Hey there!
Hi, I’m Peta Cox – consultant, trainer, coach, podcaster, and advocate for building stronger and more inclusive workplaces.
With more than 30 years of experience across surveying, education, and workforce development, I’ve worn many hats. From surveying on major infrastructure projects, project management, teaching and leading as a Head Teacher at TAFE NSW, through to shaping and delivering across Australia, nationally recognised vocational education courses as a Training Development Manager . Each step has fuelled my passion for helping people and organisations learn, grow, and succeed.
Today, through my consultancy, I work with businesses and individuals to:
- Deliver in-house training and coaching that is practical, engaging, and industry-relevant.
- Support leadership and workforce development, with a focus on addressing skills shortages and building capability.
- Advocate for diversity and inclusion, particularly for women in surveying, construction, and other male-dominated industries.
- Share stories and connect communities, through initiatives like the WiSE (Women in Surveying Empowerment) Network, Defining Boundaries podcast and The Geoholics.
I’m a firm believer in lifelong learning, problem solving, and helping others find the confidence to thrive. My own career has taken me from RMS (now TfNSW) to major construction projects, private cadastral surveying, geospatial project management, software training and creating the Surveyors Academy. That variety has taught me that no matter the industry, the key to success is people – how we support, encourage, and bring out the best in each other.
Outside of work, I find joy and balance at the beach with my camera in hand, or behind the mic as a co-host with The Geoholics podcast. Mental health is something I openly champion, after experiencing the impact of burnout myself, and I encourage others to reach out, ask for help, and support those around them.
As Dr. Seuss wisely said:
“To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world.”
I live by that every day, because a single smile, a kind word, or a small act of support can change everything.
Thanks for stopping by – I’d love to connect.
