Hey there!
Hi, I’m Peta, I am a facilitator of Surveying, Podcaster and amateur photographer.
I am the National Training & Development Manager for Consulting Surveyors National. I am creating a National Vocational Education Course in Surveying. I work directly with industry to ensure the next generation of technical surveyors are learning relevant theory & practical skills to be successful in the surveying industry.
I am passionate about the education of our next generation of Surveyors. I use my 26 years of experience within the surveying & Technical Education sector to promote the fantastic careers available. We work in an industry suitable for most people & I am here to support everyone, but especially the women who choose to take on a career in male dominated industries. I am involved in the STEM Education in High Schools, was a teacher & head teacher at TAFE NSW, a Project Manager & Senior Surveyor at Cardno Geospatial. I started my career at RMS (Roads & Maritime now TfNSW), Abigroup/Obayashi on the M2 Motorway, Jonathan Keen & Co Surveyors (Private Cadastral) & Fielder Instruments as a trainer for CIVILCAD (now MAGNET). So I’ve had a variety of experience throughout my career.
I see my self as someone who knows a little bit about everything, but not a lot about one thing. I am always learning, researching & problem solving. I thrive on a challenge and am always helping others to grow & succeed where I can.
I spend my spare time talking to people across the world about their love of the Geospatial industry. You can listen to those stories from my Podcast Defining Boundaries.
My other loves are the Beach, and Photography. This is where I can escape the pressures of life & zone out. Mental heath is extremely important to me after a complete breakdown a few years ago due to work. You will see on my social media posts that I am a big supporter of speaking out and asking for help & supporting your friends, family & coworkers, as life is too short to be looking down.
As Dr. Seuss says;
“To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world”
Remember a single smile can make someone’s day so be KIND.
Thanks for visiting!
