Our Purpose
WiSE exists to:

- Offer mentoring, networking, and peer support to help women at all career stages.
- Advocate for greater diversity, equity, and inclusion in surveying and related male-dominated professions.
- Promote surveying as a viable, rewarding career path for women through outreach, awareness, and education.
What We Do
- Networking Events & Meetups – bringing women together to connect, collaborate, and share ideas.
- Peer & Professional Support – offering a community where members can ask questions, seek guidance, and build confidence.
- Mentorship Opportunities – linking experienced professionals with early-career surveyors.
- Awareness & Advocacy – raising the profile of women in surveying through campaigns, speaking, and industry engagement.
- Collaboration & Partnerships – working with industry bodies, employers, and education providers to improve gender balance in the profession.
Our Group
The WiSE Network is made up of:
- Women currently working in surveying and geospatial roles.
- Students and early-career surveyors seeking pathways and support.
- Allies and advocates from across the profession who support inclusion and change.
- A global reach, connecting with women and professionals from Australia and beyond through social media, online groups, and international collaborations.
Why It Matters
Surveying and geospatial professions face significant skills shortages, and increasing participation of women is a vital part of addressing this challenge. WiSE helps to:
- Build confidence and leadership among women.
- Challenge stereotypes and open doors in male-dominated industries.
- Create a stronger, more sustainable profession for the future.
WiSE Network was established to address the need for a safe and empowering platform where women surveyors and professionals in related fields can connect, share experiences, and network with like-minded individuals.
